The company has focused on generics and got Indira Gandhi to change the patent laws. Founded in 1788 as Breen & Co it has changed its name since then. It was part of the team that built Parliament House, Howrah Bridge and Vidyasagar Setu This engineering company was private, then taken over by the government, then privatised.
