On the role of social media.

Social media for us plays an extremely important role as we are fairly active on Facebook, You tube, and LinkedIn and we use each of these platforms for specific things. So while we don’t look at numbers in terms of millions of followers as a winning game on social media but focus on the concreteness of our followers – for example, our Facebook users mostly are our customers and employees. It’s a great tool to engage with them, not only talk about new products and services but it’s a great way to listen to them. There is lot of feedback that we get on Facebook through posts and messages. We extensively use LinkedIn from a HR perspective- it’s a great platform for hiring as well. While I personally have around 15,000 people linked to my LinkedIn profile, we try and keep an existing relationship going with our old users and build on further talks with the new users/profiles. On our YouTube channel we sort of sum up all the activities that has been done not only through advertising but through things happening with digital PR as well. We are very new to Twitter, although I don’t quite like Twitter but we have sort of created a handle. Each brand has a different handles for doing different things but we are still somewhere in the learning stage, I would say on the whole twitter piece. On other platforms mentioned above, we use for distinct benefits and focus areas.
