The Economist is giving free ice-cream in London and Hong Kong. The yummy flavours on offer are Scurry Berry – elderberry and raspberry with mixed insect bits, Choc Hopper with chocolate and grasshopper, Strawberries and Swirls with meal-worms and Nutritious Neapolitan with “mixed critters.” The idea is to drum up on the spot subscriptions.
The concept is based on an article published in the Economist last year that highlighted the nutritional value of insects, and suggested that as a substitute for meat. (There’s an idea for no-eggs-in-noon-meal-scheme Shivraj Singh Chouhan!)
Not sure how well the buggy ice-cream is going down, but it is certainly earning them plenty of publicity.
