With recent research from sales management software review site, GetApp revealing that 85 percent of consumers have abandoned a purchase online, something has clearly gone wrong with the online sales process.
The same study also cited a confusing website and lack of online support as key reasons for these shopping cart abandonment, suggesting that it’s not just the technical aspect of websites that drives consumers to despair when shopping online.
Instead, companies need to improve the sales process to include online personalization and to find ways to better connect with and serve customers.
The study revealed not only that 52% of consumers prefer to purchase goods online, but that companies actively investing in online personalization will outsell those who haven’t by over 30% by 2018.
