AI, Data, and Customer Experience in the Digital Age: Futurist Discussions at the FBC 2018

Paul Writer recently co-hosted the 6th Annual Futurist Business Conclave with Adobe in partnership with LinkedIn, SAP, Cvent and Xoxoday. The Futurist Business Conclave (FBC) is a platform for marketers to network, learn and share insights with masterclasses, spotlights and plenary sessions. The top 100 digital marketers and top 50 desi content marketers was unveiled at FBC.

Jessie Paul, CEO, Paul Writer and Geetanjali Pandit, Knowledge Entrepreneur and Author of “Buddha at Work” kicked-off the event with a masterclass on staying employable in the futurist workplace. With the digital economy on the rise, and technology continuously changing the way we work, it becomes essential for professionals to equip themselves for the futurist workplace.

Ram Seshadri, Head Digital Strategy and Solutions, Adobe and Sunny Masand, Solution Specialist for the AdCloud product at Adobe hosted a masterclass on the ingredients to creating magic with digital advertising, and the importance of getting the right media mix. A fun interactive session took place where the audience participated in showcasing the best campaigns and what made it work.

Another masterclass hosted by Sushant Potdar, Senior Director – Product Management, SAP Customer Experience on building an integrated front office of the future highlighted how “service is the new sales” provided insights on how to equip your marketing, sales and customer service teams with solutions to win with today’s empowered customers.

After a networking lunch break, Jessie Paul introduced the topic of an AI run world and what that means for marketers. A panel discussion on “How AI & Data are changing the way we go to market” followed with speakers- Deepak Tuli, Chief Business Officer, New Business, MakeMyTrip, Shakti Goel, Chief of Product and Technology, Faircent, Gagan Singla, CMO, Angel Broking. Moderated by Jessie Paul, the panel went over how businesses use AI & Data to create a disruption in the market, how AI is making work easier, and which areas should prioritise the adoption of AI.

Ram Seshadri, Head Digital Strategy and Solutions, Adobe, India talked about how making experience the focus point of your business was good for business. The key to exceptional storytelling that would enhance customer experience was a combination of art, science and the right platform.

During a fireside chat between Virginia Sharma, Director, Marketing Solutions, LinkedIn India and Jessie Paul, CEO, Paul Writer brought forth the topic of whether re-purposed old content was better than fresh new content. The jury for LinkedIn Content 50 was introduced and the unveiling of the Content 50 List followed.

The next panel on “Customer Experience in the Age of Digital” took the discussion on content marketing and customer experience a step further. The panel comprised Manik Nangia, Director Marketing and CDO, Max Life Insurance, Maneesh Mittal, Chief Omnichannel, Shoppers Stop, Anshul Goswami, Head- Technology Center, AirAsia, Manisha Lath Gupta, Chief Marketing & Digital Officer, Clix Capital, and Sanjay Kumar Pal, Head Marketing – APAC & MEA, Cvent and was moderated by Jessie Paul. From the digital tools that can enhance customer experience to evolving CX strategies to adapt to the digital era, the panel discussed how a good customer experience can lead to more loyalty and repeat business.

Ayan Bandyopadhyay, Chief Design Evangelist, Society of Design Thinking Professionals and Mentor of Change, Atal Innovation Mission provided insights on tailoring design thinking to enhance customer experience.

A panel on getting hired in the age of AI and machines followed with speakers Amarpreet Kalkat, Co-founder, Frrole, Apurva Chamaria, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), RateGain, and Nitendra Rajput, Executive Vice President, Head, Data Science- Info Edge. Addressing the popular question of whether bots will steal our jobs, the panel members talked about how we can gear up to work with machines and benefit from them instead of being displaced by them. The FBC also saw the launch of Apurva Chamaria’s book “Master Growth Hacking.”

True to its name, the FBC panels and plenary sessions were designed to discuss the trending topics in the field and how business leaders can equip themselves for the futurist workplace, and shared insights on improving marketing and CX strategies to embrace success.
