On the importance of e-commerce platforms in strengthening their brand presence and the ways they are going about it..

Today a lot of money is riding on ecommerce platforms. The entire talk in Myntra nowadays is to let go off the website and only do mobile because are consuming and buying on mobile. Flipkart is looking very seriously to not do much enhancement on their website but to keep focusing on their apps. Lot of brands like Urban Ladder, just when they launch their app they want people to shop on their app. Going forward e-commerce or m-commerce, the way you term it is same, the way you are going to look at it is going to be very different because that’s how people are consuming. The advent of 4G & LTE data in India is going to make surfing on the mobile and on the ipad and on your laptops a lot more easier. Hence consuming and shopping on it is going to be far easier with sites like tripAdvisor, Zomato and other consumer forum which give you reviews, it’s very easy at click of a button to come to know what is happening and hence ecommerce is the way forward. Arvind is also embarking on a big e-commerce platform, we are going to come up with our own e-commerce platform just like you have Myntra, Jabong, Flipkart, Amazon and we will be showcasing our brands and other brands on it in a manner that no one has ever seen it before.
