In an endeavor to support the thousands of families affected by the unfortunate earthquake in Nepal and neighboring areas, Ola is enabling its customers across the country to contribute towards the relief work being undertaken in the region. The company has also promised to contribute Rs 15 lacs from its side towards the relief.
Ola’s customers can easily contribute towards the relief fund by entering the code ‘Nepal’ when recharging their Ola wallet. Ola’s wallet allows customers to recharge through net banking, Credit or Debit cards on the app and website. The total funds collected from customers along with Ola’s contribution shall directly be donated be to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
Pranay Jivrajka, Vice President – Operations at Ola said, “The earthquake has taken a heavy toll on the lives and livelihood of lakhs of people in Nepal & parts of India. It is time for all of us to come together and help those who have not only lost their loved ones but also their homes and belongings. With Ola’s technology platform being used by millions of citizens, we are doing all it takes to make the process of contribution easier for everyone. While it will take a lot to recover, we urge all our users to donate as much as they can individually, to help accelerate relief operations and restore normalcy at the earliest.”
How this works:
1. Open the Ola app
2. Once signed in, contribute towards the relief fund by entering the code ‘Nepal’ while recharging your Ola wallet
3. Customers will receive an Acknowledgement/receipt via SMS within 24 hrs
4. Ola will not be able to provide individual tax exemption certificates since we will be paying the proceeds as a consolidated amount towards the Relief Fund
