Amitabh Bachchan, one of India’s greatest and most respected Bollywood actors whose illustrious career spans four decades and over 180 movies, is featured in an exclusive video celebrating the launch of British Airways’ Boeing 787 Dreamliner direct flights between Hyderabad and London.

On March 31, 2014, British Airways launched its state of the art Boeing Dreamliner on five of its seven weekly direct flights between Hyderabad and London Heathrow. The inaugural flight to Hyderabad carried a special commemorative plaque honouring Amitabh Bachchan; the first time British Airways has bestowed such a prestigious accolade.Amitabh Bachchan spoke fondly about British Airways and the “unique charm” of both London and Hyderabad.

“The launch of this aircraft unites two of my favorite destinations – Hyderabad and London. London, a city abuzz with breathtaking contrast, and Hyderabad, a city that glorifies cultural vibrancy,” said Amitabh Bachchan in the video. “British Airways’ attention to detail, global connectivity and personalised services makes the airline perfect for the comfort of my family and me.

The collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan highlights British Airways’ rich history, continued commitment, and success in India.

The Boeing Dreamliner features elegant and cutting edge cabin designs which are fitted on British Airways’ new Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft; proving popular with customers. All 787s feature a new Club World 2:3:2 layout, as well as the latest generation World Traveller and World Traveller Plus seats.

British Airways has been flying to India for 85 years and currently operates 48 flights a week direct from London Heathrow to Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
