Prior to starting his own venture, KV Sridhar aka Pops was the Chief Creative Officer of Sapient Nitro and Leo Burnett India. He has built many iconic brands such as Thumps Up, Limca, Bajaj Auto, McDonalds, LG, HDFC life, DHFL, Nestle, GM, Colors, Fiat, Fair & Lovely, Whisper, Tide, JetAirways and many more. He had won a record of 23 Cannes Lions, over 100 international and 300 Indian awards, honored with New York Festivals Creative Achievement Award in 2010. He has been a part of many awards juries including Cannes, One Show, D&AD and New York Festivals among others. Pops is also a TEDx speaker and deeply committed to the issues concerning the girl child, he has been working with Population first to influence the content creators to be sensitive on gender issues.

1. What, according to you, will be a key trend we will see in the content marketing strategy of the future?

Regional content is going to make a huge difference as the internet penetration becomes deeper the data becomes cheaper so people prefer to consume their local language. And the other trend would be the content leading the commerce, this is going to be a huge phenomena.

2. What is the most important thing to keep in mind when creating content?

Authenticity. If the content looks fake or manufactured by the advertiser it would be a no-no. People will stay a mile away from it. Another important aspect would be relevance of content and the context in which people are going to consume the content is just as important to understand as the content itself. This would be the reason why programmatic, robotic or cognitive content may fail brands.

3. What is the key trait of emerging leaders in the content landscape?

Understanding Authenticity and the sociocultural context of the content. A fair bit of understanding of storytelling like the way Redbull approaches is what’s needed.
